  • HIGHLIGHTS OF
    THE PROJECT

We have developed peptide-porphyrin conjugates able to cross both the blood-brain and the blood-placental barriers to delivery the antiviral (porphyrin) payloads. In vitro and in vivo characterization of these platforms as anti-Zika virus agents will be discussed.

  • PROFILE

David Andreu is professor of Chemistry at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, where he leads the protein chemistry and proteomics group, with focus on peptide-based vaccines and pharmaceuticals. He is the current president of the European Peptide Society and the editor-in-chief of Drugs of the Future.
