Jaume Mora is the scientific director of the pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona (PCCB) at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD). He is a member of different scientific societies, including the International Pediatric Oncology Society (SIOP), which awarded him with the 16th O. Schweisguth Prize in 2001, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) which honored him with the young investigator award (YIA) in 2000, as well as the Career Development Award (CDA) in 2001, among other recognitions. Mora is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed articles and 6 book chapters in national and international publications. He is also a reviewer of the most prestigious journals in Oncology. He chaired the SIOP 2022 congress in Barcelona.

His career started at Hospital Vall d’Hebron (Barcelona) for residency in Pediatrics following which he joined the New York Hospital Cornell University and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York, for the Pediatric Oncology specialty Fellowship. In 2002 he returned to Barcelona as the leader of the Pediatric Oncology Department at HSJD and founded the Developmental tumor Biology Laboratory. He is the Founder of the PCCB at HSJD, opened in June 2022.

My research focuses on the origin of Childhood tumors with contributions in neuroblastoma, Ewing sarcoma, retinoblastoma, Wilms tumor, and diffuse midline glioma (DIPG). More recently we have opened research lines in osteosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, germ cell tumors, and rhabdoid tumors.
