PROFILE
Dr. Soler-Botija is graduated in Biology at University of Barcelona and obtained her Ph.D. in Genetics at the Hospital de Sant Pau i la Santa Creu. She gained the Fulbright fellowship to do a post-doctoral staying at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies (La Jolla, CA), where she learnt to perform the surgical model of myocardial infarction in mouse and how to apply gene and cell therapies. Her research is focused on heart regeneration using different approaches to improve cardiac function. In 2004, she joined Dr Bayés Genís team in the Hospital de Sant Pau i la Santa Creu first, and then in the Research Institute Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP), where she is expanding her knowledge and experience to other cardiac pathologies such as hypertensive fibrosis or heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
