HIGHLIGHTS OF
THE PROJECTOur Research project stems from the computational identification of metabòlic genes with prognostic potential. During the grant period, we have discovered that stroma metabolism is a strong predictor of Disease progression. This, in turn, has open the door to a new prognostic biomarker, to histological markers of prostate cancer aggressiveness and has provided fundamental information around the complex bidirectional cross-talk between tumor cells and their surroundings.

PROFILE
Dr. Carracedo is Group Leader of the CIC bioGUNE and IKERBASQUE Research Professor. He is Associate Professor at University of the Basque Country. He did a postdoctoral fellow at the Pier Paolo Pandolfi's laboratory, at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Carracedo is a member of the Board of Director of the European Association for Cancer Research and a member of the board of trustees of the AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer).
