The proposed Science Museum Exhibit must be related to the applicant’s research and innovation activities within the framework of the ”la Caixa” Foundation programmes. It may build upon a project funded by the Foundation or, more broadly, address the applicant’s line of research and scientific expertise developed through their association with the Foundation’s research, innovation or fellowship programmes.
For the purposes of this call, a Science Museum Exhibit is a self-contained exhibition module designed to communicate, interpret or explore a biomedical or health-related scientific concept within the broader narrative of a larger exhibition. Exhibits may take different forms, including interactive installations, immersive experiences, audiovisual environments, scientific objects and artefacts, medical devices, physical models, data visualisations and interpretative displays.
Applicants are expected not only to present a scientifically relevant topic, but also to provide an initial reflection on how this topic could be translated into an engaging museum experience for broad audiences. Proposals should therefore demonstrate both scientific relevance and a clear public engagement vision, including preliminary ideas regarding the visitor experience, key interpretative messages and the museographical elements, objects, resources or media that could contribute to the proposed exhibit.
