  • DESCRIPTION

Cancer is responsible for about one in six deaths a year. Despite continuous research efforts to develop effective treatments, death rates for certain cancers, such as pancreatic and lung cancer, remain extremely high.

A common feature of these aggressive and lethal cancers is highly proliferative and metabolic cells. Several recent studies have linked high expression of a protein in these tumors with poor prognosis.

This project aims to develop an innovative anti-cancer therapy based on the inhibition of this protein. The researchers have discovered promising small molecules that target it, and are now working towards identifying the lead candidate.
