  • DESCRIPTION

Heart failure and pulmonary hypertension are common chronic diseases, which can lead to arrhythmias. Heart rhythm alterations contribute to a reduction in the life expectancy and quality of life of these patients.

2% of the adult population suffers from heart failure, of which 5% to 10% receive cardiac resynchronization therapy, a type of pacemaker that detects and corrects electrical impulses in the ventricles. However, one-third of people do not respond well to this therapy.

This project investigates the benefits of a new treatment, sequential cardiac resynchronization (SECRET), which has already been developed. The device will now be tested on an animal model with a new, non-invasive implantation method.

The aim is to offer treatment for patients who do not have a therapeutic solution, especially to correct the desynchronization of the left ventricle of the heart.
