  • HIGHLIGHTS OF
    THE PROJECT

The project seeks to better understand how proteins fold in the endoplasmic reticle, a complex system of membranes distributed around the cytoplasm. The aim is to develop in-depth knowledge of the biological processes by which the proteins fold in the cellular membrane.

  • PROFILE

Colin Adrain is an independent Principal Investigator at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) since June 2013.

  • RESEARCH
    INTERESTS

His lab is interested in understanding how trafficking and quality control processes in the secretory pathway regulate cell signaling during disease. They have a particular interest in the interplay between metabolism, inflammation and growth control in mammals. My lab uses a combination of cellular biochemistry and organismal physiology in our studies.
