  • PROFILE

Dr. Hidalgo is researcher in the Department of Atherothrombosis, Imaging and Epidemiology in 2008. He joined the CNIC after obtaining a Ramón y Cajal reincorporation contract. He graduated in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and received his doctorate from the same university after working on hematopoietic adhesion control in the laboratory of Dr. Joaquín Teixidó (Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas, Madrid). He also worked in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Frenette (Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York), where he focused on understanding leukocyte and hematopoietic stem cell migration processes, as well as inflammatory.

  • RESEARCH
    INTERESTS

He is interested in the biology of inflammation and immune cells.

His group is developing techniques based on multichannel fluorescence intravital microscopy to visualize the molecular and cellular phenomena that occur within the inflamed vasculature. He is also interested in understanding the mechanisms by which leukocyte production and clearance modulates tissue homeostasis.

Imaging inflammation; Neutrophils as regulators of homeostasis; Cell competition between hematopoietic stem cells.
