The CardioTech Satellite Event will take place at Universidade do Algarve (UAlg) – Campus da Penha, one of the university’s central hubs in Faro, located just north of the city centre and next to Faro Hospital. Campus da Penha hosts a wide range of academic and research activities and is home to several faculties and laboratories, including the Algarve Tech Hub, a regional tech-transfer and innovation hub.

The event will be held in Auditorium 1.5, a 235-seat auditorium, offers a modern, comfortable environment ideal for scientific presentations, workshops, and panel discussions. It offers dedicated areas for poster sessions, exhibitors, and networking, ensuring a productive and engaging meeting experience.

Getting there

Public transport: City Centre (e.g Hotel Eva) to Campus da Penha: approx. 20‑min walk, 10–15 min by bus (lines 14, 16, 18), or 5–8 min by taxi/ride‑share.

Taxi and airport transfer information: From Faro Airport, frequent buses (Airport Shuttle/ Line 16) connect the city centre (e.g. Hotel EVA) in 15–20 minutes, and to Campus da Penha in about 20–25 minutes; taxis and ride‑share services (Bolt, Uber) reach both locations in 10–15 minutes.

    • Train (CP): Direct trains from Lisboa-Oriente or Lisboa-Entrecampos to Faro (≈3 hours). 

    • Bus: Rede Expressos, FlixBus (≈3.5 hours).  

    • Car: A2 → A22 (≈2.5–3 hours). 

    • Train (CP): Porto (→ Lisbon) → Faro (≈5.5–6 hours total). 

    • Flight: Porto → Faro (≈1-hour flight). 

    • Bus: Rede Expressos / FlixBus (≈7 hours). 

    • Car: A1 → A2 → A22 (≈5 hours). 

    • Car: A‑49 (Spain) → A‑22 (Portugal) (≈2 hours). 

    • Bus: Several daily services: Alsa, FlixBus (≈2.5–3 hours). 

    • Ride‑share: BlaBlaCar frequently available on this route. 

    • Flight: Madrid → Lisbon → Faro or Madrid → Sevilla (no direct flights in winter)  

    • Bus: ALSA, FlixBus direct services (≈7–8 hours).  

    • Car: A‑5 → A‑66 → A‑49 → A‑22 (≈6 hours).  

Faro has direct flights from major European hubs including Lisbon, Porto, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Zurich, Dublin, and several seasonal routes from Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm, and Oslo.
