• INNOVATION HUB

    A thriving innovation relies heavily on the environment in which it flourishes. The CaixaResearch Institute Innovation Hub was conceived as a strategic response to this challenge.

    This flagship initiative is being implemented within the framework of the scientific cooperation alliance of the CaixaResearch Institute together with its four partner institutions: Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), IrsiCaixa, Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), and Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).

    The Innovation Hub aims to reinforce and support the transfer activities of each centre through the implementation of four key pillars:

  • Awareness and training

    / Event, training program and networking to:

    • Bring innovation activities closer to a wider range of researchers and contexts

    • Create a community of interested people

    • Encourage projects to get off the ground and develop solidly

  • Capacity building

    / Create and/or consolidate of the innovation and tranfer units of the centres to:

    • Support human resources sustainability

    • Ensure internal capacity for the management of the innovation and technology transfer processes

  • Financial support

    / Support fund for maturation of ideas to:

    • Accelerate the development of emerging projects

    • Allow room for exploration collaboration and risk taking in connection with innovation field

  • Experts guidance

    / Access to consulting and mentoring to:

    • identify relevant experts

    • Allow the for detection and evaluation of assets with transfer potential at an early stage

  • CAPACITY BUILDING

    The CaixaResearch Institute will promote the reinforcement of the Institute’s internal innovation capabilities, through providing structural economic support for the stabilisation or generation of internal innovation capabilities of each Institute.

  • EXPERTS GUIDANCE

    The CaixaReseach Institute will facilitate access to a selection of experts with specific training and/or experience in the field of innovation for dedicated support to projects from partner institutions.

    • Business model

    • Co-patenting and co-ownership on research projects

    • Identifying a commercialisation opportunity

    • Marketing the opportunity to companies or investors
